About Kentucky Three-Day
The Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event represents the pinnacle of eventing in the Americas. As a CCI5*-L competition, it is one of only seven 5-star events worldwide and serves as a key Olympic selection trial. The event showcases the ultimate test of horse and rider partnership across dressage, cross-country, and show jumping phases. The iconic cross-country course, designed by Derek di Grazia, challenges competitors with 35+ obstacles over nearly 4 miles.

History
First held in 1978 as the Kentucky Horse Trials, this event was elevated to 4-star status in 1998 and became a 5-star event in 2019 under the new FEI format. The event has hosted numerous Olympic trials and has launched the careers of many championship eventers. The cross-country course's famous Head of the Lake and Normandy Bank have become legendary obstacles.
